Riley is ONE!! How did that happen? This past year has flown by and I can't believe he is officially not a baby anymore. There are definitely some parts of the baby stage that I will miss, like him falling asleep on me when he gets tired, but in some ways it is nice to move on to the more independent stages! So, here is a "progress" report on our not-so-little Smiley Riley:
Things he loves:
- Playing outside (especially in the sandbox). We often find him sneaking out the door to the sandbox to play!
- FOOD! He especially loves fruit of any kind, most veggies, and...well pretty much food in general!
- His soft blankie....he rubs it in his fingers as he falls asleep. So cute!
- Huck (the dog) and most animals really.
- Mommy...what can I say, he's a momma's boy! He does love to wrestle with daddy though!
- Watching and trying to play with Micah. (unfortunately this is NOT reciprocated much yet!)
- Water! He LOVES it! Baths, pools, sprinklers...doesn't matter.
New things he is doing:
- Climbing up onto everything! Caught him climbing up the ladder to the fort in the playground the other day! He has no fear!
- Walking! He still crawls most of the time, but has taken lots of steps and is trying to walk a lot.
- Says "uh oh", "doggie", "hi", "mama", "dada"
- Loves to wave at everyone!
He still gives the biggest smiles and is very happy most of the time. But if he's not happy...he makes it very clear....loudly! :)
We love you Riley and are looking forward to watching you grow and change in the next year! We pray that you become a courageous man of God and love Him with all your heart!
