Photos

Some of you wanted to know if the new picture on my header was one that I took or not. Well...I didn't, but Eric did! :) We went on a beautiful walk to Lawson Gardens near our house yesterday and took pictures of all the summery flowers. The one I chose for the header was one of my favorites, but here are a few others that turned out nicely!

I don't know what these flowers are, but they looked really fun!
Eric managed to get a picture with huck actually looking! Impressive with how fast he moves!

Early birthday present!

Since we are leaving for Europe before my birthday, Eric decided to give me my present a little bit early. (And he needed my help with one part of it too.) :)
I used to have my jewelry in a variety of different containers and on wall hangers, so Eric spent hours making me a beautiful jewelry box!
Here is a close up of it. He designed it himself and even did some wood burning to make the vine design on the front of it. The glass front for the tall part is not in yet in this picture.

Eric burned this butterfly onto the top of it for a little decoration. I was very impressed with his artistic skills! :)
Thank you, Eric, for such a beautiful birthday gift! I love it! And my jewelry will be much more organized now too!

A finished project!

My mom and dad came to visit a couple weeks ago, and while they were here my mom helped me finish a sewing project that I had started during spring break. I'm pretty new at sewing and it takes me a LOT longer to do it on my own. It was nice to finish everything in one day...especially since it would have taken me several to do it alone!

Our upstairs room needs a lot of work still, but in an attempt to improve the room a bit, I decided to sew new curtains. The old ones were pretty worn and faded. So here are the new and improved curtains!

I went with blue and brown...one of my favorite combos...since that what our bedroom will be if we move up there.

A little close up detail. My sewing machine is very cool and has all kinds of fun stitches like this leaf pattern one that matched the material perfectly!
Thanks, mom, for all your help and for teaching me to sew! And thanks to my mother in law, vickie, for the sewing machine!
