The wind that is......
Last night we had quite a storm here and our neighbors rather LARGE fir tree fell down and barely missed our house. As you can see in this picture, it also took out the power pole and lines (which are now laying on our roof!)
The tree completely uprooted when it fell over!
If the tree had fallen just a couple inches the other direction it would have taken out our bathroom and laundry room (which I admit could use remodeling...but I'd rather do it in a different way!)
So far it seems the only real casualty is our fence. All of this happened at about 1am last night which kept us up while we called the power company and fire dept. until about 3am. Then we all slept in the living room together just incase the power pole decided to fall the rest of the way down. Good times....
Let's just say we are VERY thankful for the Lord keeping us safe and sound in our little house! Now, let the cleanup begin! (if only the power company would get here and clean up the lines so we could!)

Oh man, Ian made fun of me for being up all night during that wind storm afriad a tree would fall! I am so glad you guys are safe, what a mess!! One less tree to worry about all winter eh? That wind was incredible!
Really?!?!?! The power company hasns't taken live wires off of your roof yet?!?! Sheesh!
Gives 'sleeping through a storm' a whole different meaning. Glad you all woke up and moved to safety.....

From the looks around town, the fire department and electric company have been very busy since 1 am that morning!

yikes! Sorry moll, Lela told me about it this monring...glad the tree did not go through the house...although yes, if it had you probably would have gotten some $$ out of it ;-). I actually saw the trees blowing today and maybe it was b/c of your experience this AM, but i found myself wanting a tree to fall somewhere on the shed as maybe then we would get money to build another bathroom in our house ;-)...better stop wishing though....probably not the best way to go:_)
